expressed protein ligation (сокр. EPL)[лат. ligo — связываю и греч. synthesis — соединение, сочетание, составление]полусинтетический метод получения модифицированных белков, основанный на ковалентном соединении друг с другом (лигировании) химически синтезированных или полученных с помощью технологии рекомбинантных ДНК полипептидов, что приводит к образованию модифицированных белковых продуктов. Процесс лигирования осуществляется либо за счет введения на концы объединяемых полипептидов реакционноспособных групп, обеспечивающих образование между ними ковалентных связей в водных растворах, либо с помощью природных или генетически модифицированных протеолитических ферментов (напр., субтилигазы (см. субтилигаза)). С помощью Л.с.б. получены разнообразные модифицированные белки (фосфорилированные, гликозилированные, липидированные и др.). Этот подход был предложен Т.
